During a routine fixed wire test we were concerned to discover that the client had old-fashioned halogen downlights installed. As well as being non fire rated, they were covered with insulation which increases the risk of fire. In addition, an adventurous pigeon had taken to warming itself by settling on top of the burning downlight. Thankfully, the client engaged us just in time and we were able to identify the issue before fitting compliant, fire-rated downlights throughout the property.
