As a result, with new legislation regarding electrical safety testing in the private rental sector coming into force on 1 July, we’re delighted to have achieved Approved Contractor status and inclusion in the Registered Competent Person Electrical register. The new legislation requires that landlords ensure that their rental properties are subjected to mandatory electrical testing at least every five years. And our listing confirms that we are a company that is competent to undertake such inspection reports in private rental properties.
Previously voluntary, this testing will now be compulsory and, as Mark Smith, owner of MS Electrical, confirms, a presence in the Registered Competent Person Electrical register is a significant achievement for the company. ‘We believe that our inclusion as an Approved Contractor has a number of benefits,’ comments Mark. ‘It benefits our landlord and letting agent clients, because they know that they can commission us to carry out their electrical safety testing with confidence.
