Following the death of his grandmother, who was cared for in her final days by the brilliant Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, MS Electrical owner Mark Smith decided to offer to undertake complimentary PAT testing at the charity’s Cambridge store. As Mark explains, charity shops are usually reluctant to accept electrical items due to safety concerns, so PAT testing is a very valuable service.
“Along with the rest of my family I was devastated to lose my nan, but we are indebted to the fantastic Arthur Rank Hospice Charity who provided outstanding care for her towards the end of her life,” said Mark. “Having experienced their kindness first hand, I wanted to give something back and realised that by providing free PAT testing to their Cambridge store I could enable them to accept electrical items which can potentially generate much-needed income. We’ve now completed the PAT testing and we’re looking forward to helping the charity on an ongoing basis to help them maximise their revenue.”
Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire who are living with a life-limiting illness. Delivered from their new purpose-built home at Shelford Bottom, Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech and in people’s homes across Cambridgeshire via the Arthur Rank Community Team, their care and services are provided free of charge. They rely heavily on donations and volunteer support, and have recently opened a new store in Cottenham.
We have been extremely pleased with the service provided by MS Electrical. In all our dealings with them they have proven to be efficient, reliable and a pleasure to deal with. We would not hesitate to recommend their services.
